What customers say?

“ If Shin Yeh Taiwanese Cuisine did not exist, something essential in Taiwan’s culinary landscape would feel missing. This is the kind of food you continue to crave even when you are abroad—deeply comforting, unmistakably local, and rich with tradition. The A9 branch at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Xinyi Place offers an especially refined experience. The restaurant serves a wide array of classic Taiwanese dishes, from time-honored banquet favorites to beloved home-style specialties, all prepared with consistency and care. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, making it suitable for both family gatherings and business meals. Compared with other Shin Yeh locations in Taipei, this branch feels the most polished and comfortable, with spacious seating and attentive service that never feels intrusive. It manages to preserve the warmth of traditional Taiwanese dining while presenting it in a modern, sophisticated setting. For visitors who want to understand authentic Taiwanese cuisine—or for locals seeking a taste of home at its best—this location stands out as one of the finest representations of Shin Yeh’s legacy. ”

“ Located in A9 of Mitsukoshi Shinyi, it was a surprisingly slow night here. Am always used to find them crowded. Our old time favorites from their original location along Lin Shen Road are all here, the steamed minced pork with salted egg yolk, fresh not fried spring rolls, the tenderest beef pan fried with sate sauce on a bed of spinach, and the yummiest fried sesame balls. I only gave a 4 for food because the steamed pork had gristle and the almond jelly had too much soup tonight and not the usual amount of jelly and fruits. The 4 star rating for atmosphere is because there was a very noisy private party going on in the private room and we were seated right outside. There were many empty tables so a wiser decision would have been to seat guests farther away. But it is a small matter and we didn’t ask to transfer, all in all a small blip and glitch in a good dinner experience. Will I come again? Of course yes. Clean, lovely, elegant atmosphere with excellent Taiwanese cuisine and great service. Wide menu with pictures. Fine dining dishes as well as home cooking, and snacks like fresh spring rolls (these bear no resemblance to the fried finger sized spring rolls; they are not fried and the size is around the circumference of a man’s wrist and about 5 inches in length) and cuapao (Chinese sandwich with braised pork belly garnished with cilantro, crushed sweet peanuts on a steamed rectangular bun - also known as Taiwanese burger) are also on the menu. We spent over $1000 per person because of the steamed crab in glutinous rice and the Buddha jumped over the fence soup, otherwise a simpler meal can be had for much less than Nt$500/person is easily doable here considering the wide menu range. Wheelchair accessibility is also good with elevator access. ”

“ Attended a fancy business dinner so didn't snap many photos. The service was top-notch and the Taiwanese cuisine was truly authentic. Everything was exceptional. This was my first time here, and I've heard that this restaurant is a must-visit for genuine local food. ”
